Gil Lichtshein, MD, is board-certified in general psychiatry and child & adolescent psychiatry provides compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for patients of all ages in South Florida, from young children to older adults.

Personalized Mental Health Care
For Every Stage of Life

By tailoring treatment to each stage of life, Dr. Lichtshein helps children build healthy coping skills, supports adolescents as they navigate growth and change, guides adults through challenges such as anxiety, mood, or attention concerns, and assists older adults in maintaining emotional well-being and cognitive health. Every treatment plan is personalized, blending therapy, practical strategies with a holistic approach, and, when appropriate, medication to promote resilience and improve quality of life.

Child Psychiatry (Ages 5-12)

Children can have similar mental health conditions as adults, but they may present differently. Diagnosing and treating children is a collaborative process, based on information provided by the appropriate family members, the pediatrician or other medical practitioners, teachers, and in conversation or observation / interviews with your child. This team approach allows us to create a comprehensive evaluation for children ages 5-17 and provide gentle, developmentally informed care for children facing emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges. Using evidence-based approaches and close collaboration with families, we create an effective and sustainable treatment plan, combining psychological therapy and medication, when necessary, to help children build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and thrive at home and in school.

Adolescent Psychiatry (Ages 13-18)

Adolescence can be a time of rapid growth and unique pressures, which can contribute to mental health issues. Like with younger children, the diagnosis process is a collaborative one. Our practice supports teens navigating mood changes, anxiety, attention concerns, and other challenges. Through therapy, guidance, and, when appropriate, medication, we help adolescents gain insight, develop healthy coping strategies, and build confidence for the future.

Adult Psychiatry (Ages 19-65)

Seeking support with anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, and other concerns? We offer comprehensive mental health care for adults, focusing on understanding your goals and tailoring treatment — including therapy, lifestyle strategies, and medications when needed — to help you achieve lasting well-being.

Geriatric Psychiatry (Age 65+)

Later life can bring new emotional, cognitive*, and physical changes. Our Boca Raton practice provides compassionate psychiatric care for older adults, addressing concerns such as depression, anxiety, memory changes, and adjustment to life transitions. Our goal is to enhance quality of life, promote independence, and support healthy aging.
*Please note we do not treat patients with dementia.

Telepsychiatry

Telepsychiatry or virtual consultations can be an option. Using secure platforms that protect patient privacy and confidentiality, sessions can include consultation, medication management and therapeutic interventions.
